I grew up in a simple, little town in Maryland called Mount Airy. Life was fast-paced in the Northeast, which I loved. However, growing up in a small town everyone knows everything about everyone. I always knew I had to get away from that. I had the same friends since about the first grade, and those friends I'm still very close with today. Life seemed pretty easy. I got good grades, had great friends, and a healthy and happy family. I still knew I had to leave and get out of Maryland and live my own life. I worked as hard as I could in high school to be able to go wherever I wanted for college. I couldn't help but want something bigger, something more. When applying to colleges, I didn't apply to any in state. I still maintain great friendships with my high school friends and while I may miss the fast-paced life of the North, I couldn't imagine being anywhere else than Georgia. I love the people here and I love being in a bigger sea.
